In partnership with the International Justice Mission, the LOOSE CHANGE TO LOOSEN CHAINS proposal will create a school wide initiative where advisories will collect money on two collection days. This money will be donated to IJM to help efforts to end trafficking worldwide.

Created in 2009, Loose Change to Loosen Chains(LC2LC) is a student-led campaign for elementary to college students to combat modern-day slavery while learning about the reality of slavery. Estimates suggest there is $100 in loose change lying around the average household. Imagine what you could do if you were to collect even just a fraction of this amount and use it for a good cause.

IJM will use the money donated through this program to rescue victims of slavery and other forms of oppression.

If selected, Marist School will institute two collection days during the 2016-2017 school year to collect loose change from our students. Each 10th-12th grade student will be given a LC2LC branded cup to take home and collect change and build awareness for the campaign.
